TLV LGBTQ CENTER

OVERVIEW

The Tel Aviv-Yafo LGBTQ Center needed its website to feel like an extension of the community itself, warm and human, not another stiff municipal site.

I wrote content built around a personal, human voice, rather than an institutional one, despite the center operating under the city municipality.

A key part of the project was writing in gender-neutral Hebrew without relying on slash-separated forms so every page, from the center's origin story to individual instructor bios, spoke directly to the reader.

GOAL

Make a community center's website feel like a place people actually want to be, one that reflects the warmth of the physical space without losing the practical clarity visitors need to find classes, services, and information.

CHALLENGE

The center serves a wide range of people across ages and identities, so the writing had to stay welcoming and clear without flattening that diversity, all while keeping a natural, gender-neutral Hebrew.

HOW I HELPED

• Wrote the homepage to introduce the center's identity and the range of activities it holds

• Shaped the About page around the center's story, from a place still finding its footing to becoming home for a whole community

• Gave each yoga and Pilates instructor on the Studio page a bio with real personality, so visitors could get a sense of who they'd be learning from before ever walking in

• Wrote Clinic page content that introduced the center's counseling services with warmth, making a sensitive topic feel approachable
